Introduction
The University of Taipei was officially established on August 1, 2013, as a comprehensive university formed by the merger of the Taipei Municipal University of Education and the Taipei Municipal University of Physical Education.
The University of Taipei integrates the excellent traditions of both schools and, based on the excellent tradition of teacher training, creates a “model university for teacher training.”
Based on the advantage of cultivating outstanding sports athletes, it is building a “major university for gold medal-winning athletes.”
Furthermore, based on the school’s expertise in humanities and arts, science education, sports and leisure, and the Taipei City Government’s future demand for talents in municipal management and development, it is being built into a “metropolitan-characteristic innovative university.”
In addition, with “teaching excellence, research advancement, internationalization, industry-academia cooperation, and community service” as the five major development axes, it actively promotes new directions in school development and becomes a well-known metropolitan university at home and abroad with scale and competitiveness.
International Exchange and Cooperation
The university has 159 sister schools spanning the Asia-Pacific, Europe, the United States, and the Middle East. In recent years, it has accumulated an annual quota of 348 exchange students to conduct exchange student programs, double degree programs, faculty visits, and joint international conferences with sister schools. Among the sister schools, 23 are ranked among the top 500 best universities in the world by QS or THE.
In line with the Taipei City Government’s policy, priority is given to exchanges with sister city schools in the city, such as Shanghai University and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
Actively promote overseas off-site teaching at sister schools to promote students’ international mobility and expand their global vision.
Regularly select exchange students and organize overseas off-site teaching. Students can go to sister schools in Russia, Italy, France, the Czech Republic, Spain, Norway, the United States, Israel, Colombia, Turkey, Japan, Korea, China and other regions for exchanges to increase students’ opportunities to study internationally in different countries and expand their international horizons.
Transportation
The Bo-ai Campus is located in the core area of Taipei International Metropolis, with a superior geographical location and rich cultural and social resources. It is close to the National Library, the National Taiwan Museum, the National Concert Hall, the National Theater, and Nanhai Academy. It is not only a political and economic center, but also an academic and educational center, providing a vast learning area for teachers and students, with excellent advantages.
The Tianmu Campus is located in the Tianmu area in the northern suburbs of Taipei City, with convenient transportation and rich social resources. Art exhibitions and activities are relatively active, which is most conducive to the development and cultivation of art and leisure talents. At the same time, the Taipei City Government is actively promoting healthy cities, and the extension education courses established by the school are very popular in the community, which not only contributes to the community but also increases students’ ability to interact with others.

Introduction
Founded in 1991, YunTech’s motto is “Sincerity, Respect, Perseverance, and Innovation.” Since its establishment, it has been guided by the principle of practical application, gradually utilizing the advantages of industry-academia collaboration and innovative teaching to build a unique characteristic of “industry-academia integration and innovative design.” Since 2018, with the support of the Ministry of Education’s “Higher Education Sprout Project,” it has further constructed a dual-track learning system, providing students with a learning environment suitable for their development and practical application, and developing a problem-based learning (PBL) system that connects with industry, aiming to achieve the goal of cultivating talents with suitable development and high-quality employment.
Building on past achievements, since 2020, YunTech has continued to take “an internationally renowned university characterized by innovative teaching and industry connection” as its development vision, with the goals of “connecting the development of teachers and students with the needs of economic, environmental, and social sustainable development,” “making outstanding contributions to local and global well-being,” “shaping an innovative, intelligent, friendly, and sustainable campus,” and “ranking among the top 100 in Asia and the top 1000 in the world,” hoping to achieve world-class levels in the four dimensions of student cultivation, teacher development, university contribution, and international influence.

Introduction
In line with the government’s industrial policy development, to promote the Asia-Pacific Operations Center (including the Southern Taiwan Science Park, Kaohsiung Multifunctional Trade and Economics Park, and International Warehousing and Processing and Transportation Center, etc.), assist enterprises in transformation and upgrading, and cultivate technical and management talents, National Kaohsiung University was established in 2000, becoming the only newly established national university in the millennium, and has the following characteristics:
1. With strong academic research as a backing, it has become a driving force for government policy development
2. Possesses excellent teaching units and a free academic research environment
3. Emphasizes innovative teaching and integration, keeping pace with the international community
4. Creates a learning environment with young faculty, high-quality counseling, and efficient administration to cultivate pillars of society
5. Cooperates with domestic and foreign universities, joins the “Kaohsiung Academy” of 6 universities in Kaohsiung and the “Taiwan National University System” of 11 national universities, and conducts substantial exchanges and resource sharing through strategic alliances
6. Stimulates the research energy of teachers and students and promotes industry-academia cooperation
7. Constructs a university town with humanities, ecology, leisure, and health
Teaching quality and academic prestige
Our university is a school that has won subsidies from the Ministry of Education’s “Teaching Excellence Program” and “Educational Deep Cultivation Program.” Our industry-academia research energy ranked eighth in the country in a 2012 survey by Global Views Magazine, and third in a 2015 survey by the China Times Weekly of “Enterprises’ Favorite General Universities in Kaohsiung and Pingtung.” Our university’s development vision is to become a “distinctive university with international prestige,” connecting with the international community through the common language of SDGs.
In 2004, it became the first school in Taiwan to sign the Talloires Declaration. In 2009, it was rated by the Ministry of Education as a model green university. In 2011, it was planned by the Ministry of the Interior as a national important wetland. Since 2016, in order to implement the UN SDGs concept, it has proposed an SDGs internalization (SDGs-Inside) development mechanism for university-wide sustainability.
In addition, in 2019 and 2020, it won the Gold Award in the University Category of the TCSA Corporate Sustainability Report Award from the Taiwan Sustainable Energy Research Foundation. Through hard work, our school was ranked 401-600 in the world in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) “World University Impact Rankings.” In Cheers Magazine’s 2026 “Corporate Favorite University Students” ranking, National Kaohsiung University (NUK) topped the mid-sized university category, placing 24th nationally, and noted for industry links (like semiconductor/AI) and cross-disciplinary skills.
Industry-Academia Cooperation and Internships
In order to enhance students’ employment competitiveness, our school is committed to cross-domain integration and promotion of innovative teaching, using geographical advantages to create internship fields, promote industry-academia integration, and implement the integration of learning and application (such as promoting semiconductor programs); in terms of teachers’ innovative research, we connect with external industries to assist in upgrading and transformation or counseling entrepreneurship, and promote the commercialization of technology within the school for application in substantive technical products or industries.
In addition to holding industry-academia matchmaking or briefing sessions from time to time (such as the NXP Semiconductors Internship Cooperation Briefing Session), the school also regularly holds student creative competitions to encourage students to participate in research and development; the established New Energy Power Center pioneered Taiwan’s renewable energy quality label, the “Taiwan Education Power Green Electricity Quality Certification Label EDUpower Quality Label,” to implement the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through innovative mechanisms, and further cooperated with the ASE Cultural and Educational Foundation to jointly establish the “EDUpower Quality Label Certification System and Operation Model.”

Introduction
International Cooperation and Exchange
The university selects students to study abroad through programs such as “Study Abroad Dreaming,” “Study Abroad Flying,” and “Study Abroad Cherishing.” In view of the changing global economy and the trend of internationalization, the university has been actively moving towards the goal of internationalization in recent years. Based on its existing advantages, it promotes international academic exchanges in related departments, actively negotiates cooperative alliances with international academic institutions, and accelerates the pace of internationalization through the exchange of professors and students, the establishment of dual degree programs with foreign universities, the recruitment of international masters and scholars, the sharing of educational resources, and the organization of international seminars.
In addition, the school also provides all-English taught international programs, participates in the preparation of international education exhibitions, and provides an internationalized learning environment through related international cooperation programs, encouraging and subsidizing students to participate in international competitions, accumulate valuable experience, and enhance students’ international competitiveness. In order to provide more students with opportunities for international exchange, we will expand the “Summer Short-term Study/Off-site Teaching” and “Summer International Summer Camp” programs.

Student Dormitory
The university has three student dormitories (1 for female students and 2 for male students) and plans to build two new student dormitories. One is a seven-story student dormitory with one floor underground, and the new dormitory was completed in October 2022; the other is a nine-story student dormitory with one floor underground, which is expected to be completed in September 2024.
The dormitory is equipped with hardware facilities such as a learning resource center and a fitness experience center; in addition, the existing three dormitories and some floor spaces are built into accommodation clusters with specific attributes, including multimedia production groups, innovation and entrepreneurship groups, volunteer service groups, maker communities, and international culture groups.
After the new dormitory is completed, it will be further transformed to cooperate with the dormitory space, and lecturers, teaching assistants and material costs will be provided to promote the implementation of various activities, organize community activities or thematic learning courses, or share students’ spontaneous learning experiences. Community students will lead and encourage boarding students and students on campus to participate together, with the aim of creating a new garden for peer interaction and innovative learning.
