Connection with the community – Improving the environment for mushroom cultivation

In recent years, mushrooms have been affected by climate change, causing the hyphae to be subjected to heat stress during growth, preventing the hyphae from growing, which in turn has led to a decline in mushroom production. Through the Ministry of Education’s USR program “Central Taiwan Mushroom Industry Creation and Sustainable Management Improvement Plan”, our school assists in improving the difficulty of mushroom cultivation and monitors growth environment data.

Mainly monitoring growth conditions for two different environments: the new water curtain technology field and the traditional field. In 2023, sensors were installed in three fields to monitor relevant environmental factors such as sunlight, humidity, and altitude, collect relevant data, and construct optimal growth conditions, using technology and agriculture to go hand in hand.

In addition, the relevant growth data of the water curtain field is compared with the traditional field, providing data on the relevant growth conditions of mushroom farmers, thereby increasing the production capacity of mushrooms and reducing the impact of environmental factors.

Connection with the community – Industry-academia collaboration with hospitals

NCUT collaborates with the Minimally Invasive Spine and Joint Center of Taichung Tzu Chi Hospital to promote social health and well-being in terms of spine-related health issues. Our school signed a memorandum of cooperation with the National Army Taichung General Hospital and jointly implemented the “Precision Exercise Instructor Training and Sarcopenia Screening Service Program for Older Adults” to promote health and well-being and exert influence.

Connection to the community – Eliminate food waste

In 2021, in order to promote the concept of “Serve with care, eat without waste” and link the “Enterprise and Humanities” course, professors from the Department of Business Administration of our school collaborated with Yingxi Precision Industry, Cultural Righteousness Education Foundation, the USR Program of the Ministry of Education of the School of Management (Smart Innovation Local Practice – Loquat and Lychee to Celebrate a Prosperous Era) and the Qinyi Yunus Social Enterprise Center to produce overproduced pineapples into jam and enzymes to reduce leftover food waste and cultivate students’ social problem-solving skills.

Introduction

Exclusive Scholarship

1. Freshmen who have graduated from overseas alliance middle schools or are recommended by cooperative institutions in Taiwan can apply for the “tuition fee” scholarship after enrollment. After other overseas Chinese students register for admission, they can apply for the same amount of scholarships for “miscellaneous expenses”.

2. From the second academic year, scholarships will be issued according to the ranking of the previous semester’s class:
the top 15% of the previous semester class received 35,000 bursaries;
15.01%-30% of the class ranked in the previous semester and received 20,000 bursaries;
30.01%-50% of the class ranked in the previous semester and received 8,000 grants.

Introduction

Founded in 1960, CSMU, guided by the spirit of “Honesty, Love, Excellence, Diligence,” is committed to constructing a medical university that values both humanities and respect for life, with a focus on medical and humanistic development. It aims to cultivate outstanding medical professionals who respect patient rights, provide the best medical services, and possess extensive medical knowledge.

CSMU’s affiliated hospital is equipped with high-tech instruments and has received the National Biotechnology and Medical Care Quality Award. It is a well-known medical center in central Taiwan, providing students with an excellent professional internship environment and promoting clinical research and development. In recent years, the university has continued to actively update its buildings and strengthen its facilities to improve the quality of learning and research.

CSMU has many outstanding alumni who are mainly dedicated to the medical field worldwide. International Exchange and Cooperation

In order to cope with globalization and enhance competitiveness, in addition to attracting outstanding students from different regions to study at CSMU, we have also signed academic agreements and exchanges with more than 40 well-known universities in the United States, Japan, China, Europe, and Asia. A newly constructed multi-purpose complex building will soon be put into operation, featuring a food court, student dining facilities, and a large international conference hall. Introduction

Urban Oasis, Sustainable Campus

–Founded in 1955, it is the only comprehensive private university in Taiwan with programs from kindergarten to doctoral level.

–A forest campus with hundreds of acres of greenery and thousands of ecological landscapes. The two campuses cover a total of 133 hectares, combining the iconic Luce Chapel and teaching buildings with traditional and modern styles, creating Taiwan’s premier living and learning space per student.

–In the “2024 World University Impact Rankings” by Times Higher Education (UK), only 7 universities in Taiwan entered the top 200 in the world. Graduated from the Department of Sociology of Tunghai University in 1986. Since returning to Hong Kong after graduation, in addition to founding Tunghai Hong Kong Company, he has been enthusiastically participating in the voluntary work of the Tunghai Hong Kong Alumni Association. He has served as the person in charge of the association for many years and is currently an advisor to the association. He has made many contributions to uniting Hong Kong alumni, assisting overseas Chinese students from the alma mater in Hong Kong, and promoting association affairs for many years.

In July 2011, Senior Wei was elected as the President of the “Federation of Hong Kong Alumni Associations of Taiwan Universities” and served as the Second Vice President of the “World Federation of Taiwan Alumni Associations”. Founder of Tungda Machinery Co., Ltd.

Malaysia

Graduated from the Department of Industrial Engineering of Tunghai University in 1984. He returned to Malaysia to start his own business and established Tungda Machinery Co., Ltd. He is currently the Managing Director of Tungda Machinery Co., Ltd. The company mainly produces power machinery for palm oil, wastewater treatment, gloves, pulp and paper industries. Yao Digang has also served as the President of the Tunghai Alumni Association of Malaysia, the President of the United Alumni Association of Taiwan in Malaysia, and the President of the World Federation of Taiwan Alumni Associations. He has also won the 10th Outstanding Alumnus of Tunghai University, the Second Class Hua Guang Professional Medal of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission of the Republic of China, and the Second and Third Class Education Professional Medals of the Ministry of Education.

In addition to his successful career, Yao Digang is also enthusiastic about Chinese education. During his tenure as the President of the United Alumni Association of Taiwan, he held several education exhibitions of Taiwan universities to promote academic exchanges between Malaysia and Taiwan. He also visited the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia, the Public Service Bureau, the MCA, and the Student Association in Taiwan for many times, and actively promoted the formal recognition of Taiwan university diplomas by the Malaysian Academic Qualifications Evaluation Agency through various channels, and strived for the status of Chinese education in Malaysia from the government.

Industrial Upgrading:

Taichung Veterans General Hospital, Tunghai University, and Taiwan Artificial Intelligence School are joining hands across fields to enter the medical AI field, including four major aspects: “Talent Cultivation”, “Research and Development”, “Clinical Application”, and “Health Care”.

Cloud Innovation College
Focuses on the cultivation of talents in “cloud technology” and “new economy”. The main participating departments include six departments: Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, Information Management, and Mathematics. The courses include two aspects: “Cloud Technology” and “New Economy”. Students’ graduation projects need to be solved by interdisciplinary teams to solve practical problems in the industry.

“Cloud Technology” combines AWS technology and platform to train artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, big data, and cloud service talents needed by the future industry. The “New Economy” part focuses on the industrial impact brought by technology and the possible innovative business models. Tunghai Red Earth College – Practice and Innovation of Urban Farms

The Red Earth College has built a practical simulation farm on campus, and with “agricultural soul” as the cornerstone, supplemented by the school’s characteristics of humanities, social sciences and arts, it has constructed a practical field with diverse connotations of “food and agriculture”. It cultivates students with both agricultural education (Tunghai Agricultural School agricultural knowledge), food education (Green Leader food and agriculture teaching plan development) and culture.

Financial Technology:
Under the impact of the global financial technology trend, traditional financial services are facing unprecedented challenges. Countries have invested in this field, which has become an important focus of the next wave of financial service defense. We are excited to introduce first-class industries to our campus, collaborating with TSMC to offer four specialized semiconductor courses. These courses will be taught by both teachers and industry mentors working together. Students can select courses based on the curriculum plan and will receive a TSMC curriculum certificate upon completing the requirements, allowing them to connect with the workforce in advance.

Additionally, our university is a proud member of the AI Alliance. In addition to the AI courses offered on our campus, students can actively apply to take courses from alliance schools.
