Eligible Recipients
Students who apply for admission to the university in accordance with the regulations below and are officially enrolled as degree-seeking students of the university (excluding extended-study students, students in special programs for international students, exchange students, and those who previously studied at the university without obtaining a degree), as confirmed by the Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs.

  1. International Students: Students admitted and enrolled as international students in accordance with the university’s Regulations for the Admission of International Students.
  2. Overseas Chinese Students (including Hong Kong and Macau students): Students admitted and enrolled through the Overseas Joint Admission Committee (either the individual application system or the joint placement system), or students independently recruited by the university as overseas Chinese students (including Hong Kong and Macau students).
  3. Mainland Chinese Students: Students admitted and enrolled through placement by the Joint Admission Committee for Students from Mainland China.

Eligibility and Scholarship Benefits

(1) Students admitted through the university’s independent admissions process or through the Overseas Joint Admission Committee (individual application system or joint placement system), with this university as their first-choice institution:

  1. Students enrolled in four-year technical programs or five-year junior college programs are eligible for full tuition and miscellaneous fee waivers for the first and second semesters after enrollment. International Foundation Program students (hereinafter referred to as foundation students) are eligible for a full waiver of tuition and miscellaneous fees for the second semester after formally enrolling in a bachelor’s program.
  2. Students enrolled in master’s programs or two-year technical programs are eligible for a full waiver of tuition and miscellaneous fees for the first semester after enrollment.

From the third semester onward for four-year technical and five-year junior college students (or after foundation students formally enroll in a bachelor’s program), and from the second semester onward for master’s and two-year technical students, those whose class ranking in the previous semester is within the top 10 percent are eligible for a full waiver of tuition and miscellaneous fees; those ranked between the top 10 percent and top 20 percent are eligible for a half waiver of tuition and miscellaneous fees.

(2) Students who did not list this university as their first choice or who were admitted as transfer students:
They are eligible for a full waiver of tuition and miscellaneous fees for the semester of admission.

From the second semester onward for four-year technical and five-year junior college students (or after foundation students formally enroll in a bachelor’s program), those whose class ranking in the previous semester is within the top 10 percent are eligible for a full waiver of tuition and miscellaneous fees; those ranked between the top 10 percent and top 20 percent are eligible for a half waiver of tuition and miscellaneous fees.

(3) Students recommended for admission by partner institutions with which the university has separate agreements shall receive scholarships in accordance with the agreed terms.

(4) Students applying for renewal of scholarships must meet the following requirements in the previous semester to be eligible:

  1. Fulfill the minimum credit requirements stipulated in the university’s student registration regulations, with no fewer than eight credits per semester (excluding master’s students), and no failed courses.
  2. Conduct grade of 80 or above, class attendance rate of at least 90 percent, and no disciplinary action of demerit or above.
  3. Completion of the required service-learning hours as stipulated.
  4. No outstanding tuition or fee payments.

Introduction


School History

In 1899, Taichung Normal School, the predecessor of the university, was founded at the Changhua Confucius Temple. In 1923, the institution was rebuilt at its current location, officially launching its century-long educational mission.

In 1945, the university entered the Normal School phase, establishing a teacher education philosophy that emphasized educators as role models for society. In 1960, it stepped into the Junior Teachers College phase, advancing the ideals of liberal and professional higher education.

In 1987, the institution evolved into a Teachers College, developing into a modern teaching and research institution dedicated to professional education. In 2005, it was elevated to a University of Education, integrating its century-old tradition of teacher education while pursuing transformation and growth. Guided by the vision of “Inheriting a Century of Teacher Education and Shaping the Future University of Education,” the university aspires to become an innovative and sustainable teacher education institution with smart learning at its core.

Data Science and Problem Solving (General Education Course)

The ability to extract insights from large and complex datasets through big data analysis has become a core competency across many fields, as it enables more efficient and accurate problem solving. This course introduces students to big data through data analysis and covers the overall design of data analysis workflows and quantitative methods. The course concludes with hands on practice using real-world problem-solving case studies, enabling students to apply what they have learned in practical.

Digital Teaching Teacher Training Program

In response to global trends and the needs of domestic teacher education, digital teaching competencies are incorporated into required teacher education courses. This enables pre-service teachers to align seamlessly with classroom demands and to flexibly apply digital instructional methods to enhance student learning outcomes.

Big Data in Education Micro Program

This micro program focuses on education-related big data by applying artificial intelligence and data processing theories and techniques to address challenges in the field of education. The program aims to cultivate interdisciplinary talents with core competencies in both education and data analytics.

Exploring Taichung Through Technology Micro-Credit Program

This program enhances students’ ability to understand their local environment through the Taichung context and to apply digital technologies to address social and humanities-related issues. It also prepares students to meet future needs in national development, society, and the workplace.

TSMC Semiconductor Program

To encourage students in related fields to pursue studies in semiconductors and strengthen their professional technical skills, the university collaborates with TSMC to offer the Semiconductor Skills Credit Program. Students enrolled in the program receive hands on training provided by TSMC. Those who successfully complete the program with outstanding academic performance are eligible for guaranteed interviews when applying for positions at TSMC and may receive differentiated salary and benefits.

Jin Yong was admitted to the Department of Diplomacy at National Chengchi University in 1944. In 1952, he served as the editor of the supplement of the “New Evening Post.” In 1959, he founded “Ming Pao” in Hong Kong.

In 1955, he began writing numerous popular novels under the pen name Jin Yong, including “The Book and the Sword,” “The Legend of the Condor Heroes,” and “The Return of the Condor Heroes.” He also used the pen name Lin Huan to write scripts for Great Wall Movie Enterprises, including “The Peerless Beauty,” which won the Gold Medal Award from the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China.

Participated in the “Golden Melody Award” songwriting competition at NCCU and was noticed by producer Lee An-hsiu, who was one of the judges at the time. After returning to Malaysia in 1998, he has produced more than 100 albums and published more than 300 songs. The artists he has worked with include: Michael Wong, Yoga Lin, Stefanie Sun, Cheer Chen, Fish Leong, Z-Chen, Nicholas Teo, and Anthony Neely. In addition, he is also the mastermind behind the overseas development of Malaysian artists such as Z-Chen, Penny Tai, Lawrence Wong, and Eric Pen.

In 2004, he wrote “I Miss Him Too” for Stefanie Sun, reaching a new career milestone. Between 2006 and 2007, Peng Hsueh-bin released a large number of compositions, including Gigi Leung’s “Love Was So Hurtful,” Cyndi Wang’s “That Summer, Quiet Sea,” and Fish Leong’s “Adoration,” each of which was the main track of the album.

Recent hit songs include Z-Chen’s “Secret Love,” Cosmos People’s “Lonely, Okay,” Anthony Neely’s “Queen,” and Yoga Lin’s “Mentor.” Peng Hsueh-bin has repeatedly won awards at the Malaysia PWH Music Award (a biennial Chinese music award in Malaysia) and the AIM Chinese Music Awards (the largest music awards ceremony in Malaysia), including Original Golden Melody, Best Composer, Best Album, Most Played Chinese Song, and Overseas Highest Royalty Song.

Free Chinese courses

.Top students receive full tuition and miscellaneous fee waivers, approximately TWD$90,000~120,000 per year
.Outstanding students receive partial tuition and miscellaneous fee reductions, approximately TWD$50,000 per year

Ministry of Education Bursary for Poor Overseas Chinese Students

NTD 3,000 per month

1. Overseas Chinese students studying in Taiwan in accordance with the Regulations Regarding Overseas Chinese Students Returning to Taiwan for Study and Guidance (excluding graduate students, students extending their studies, and self-funded overseas Chinese students from Myanmar).

2. Overseas Chinese students who have been studying for more than two years, with a passing overall average academic performance and an average conduct score of 80 or higher for the previous academic year.

3. Parents, legal guardians, or spouses who have not been registered in Taiwan for more than two years.


Mr. Liang Shih-Chen and Ms. Liang Li-Ying Scholarship from the Indonesian Sampoerna Group

NTD 50,000 per academic year

1. Priority is given to Indonesian students who are from financially disadvantaged families or who have suddenly encountered major accidents and are in urgent need of assistance.

2. Priority is given to those who propose creative plans or research, especially those related to Taiwan and Indonesia.

3. Conduct scores must be 80 or higher each semester and academic performance must average 75 or higher in the previous academic year.
