Introduction


National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) was founded in 1924 with the goal of developing tropical agriculture research and cultivating technology talents. NPUST leans against the foot of Dawu Mountain, with nearly 300 hectares of campus, vast grasslands, and lush trees, presenting different beautiful scenery in all seasons. It is a national university with the reputation of a “National Park University” and has been ranked first in Taiwan in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings for six consecutive years.

Currently, there are seven colleges: Agriculture, Engineering, Management, Humanities and Social Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, International College, and College of Professionals. The departments and graduate institutes are well-developed, and there are abundant learning resources in various fields. NPUST takes innovative “Technology Agriculture”, “Ecological Industry”, “Platinum Society” and “Blue Economy” as the four main axes of school development, and actively promotes industry-academia cooperation with the concepts of “cross-domain”, “cross-digital”, “cross-industry” and “cross-international”, and cultivates interdisciplinary talents with both humanistic and professional literacy, innovative thinking and international perspective, so as to fulfill the social responsibility of the university and create new achievements for NPUST.

International Exchange and Cooperation

At present, NPUST has established partnerships with 275 sister schools in 46 countries, and more than 600 international students from 42 countries are studying at NPUST. The alliance map covers the world. NPUST actively participates in international exchanges, focusing on the New Southbound Policy, and attracts outstanding overseas teachers and students to come to pursue further studies through international academic organizations, inter-school R cooperation, seed teacher training, and student exchanges, which has made great contributions to the development of agricultural technology in diplomatic countries and Southeast Asian countries.

Currently, the cumulative number of international graduates exceeds 2,700, and the alumni have outstanding performance in various fields. The Overseas Youth Vocational Training Program recruits agricultural elites for training, opening up an innovative model for NPUST’s agricultural foreign aid. At present, the scope of foreign aid has been expanded to different professional fields such as industry, management, humanities, and climate disaster prevention. Most of the students are from Malaysia, and most of the graduates are Malaysian elites, who are currently employed in important national leadership departments or start their own businesses, shining the golden signboard of NPUST.

School Introduction

Meiho University of Science and Technology, from local to international, from professional to all-round, has always been “everything for students, everything for students.” Meiho Nursing Junior College was established in 1966, the first private nursing junior college in our country; in 2000, it was upgraded to Meiho Institute of Technology, and in 2010, it was renamed Meiho University of Science and Technology. There are currently three colleges, fourteen departments (including five master’s programs), about 5,500 students, and about 365 faculty and staff members, and overseas special classes are offered in Vietnam.
Our school promotes adaptive teaching, strengthens academic research, improves service quality, implements the purpose of teaching, research, and service, cultivates students’ core skills of “professionalism,” “holistic education,” and “internationalization,” and closely combines with the needs of the industry to cultivate technological talents who can “connect with the industry immediately after graduation.” Open overseas special classes to strengthen international exchanges and expand international reputation.
The campus upholds the spirit of “beautiful and courteous, harmonious and studious,” promotes SMART Meiho’s new five ethics, and promotes students to develop the five good habits of “tranquility, stillness, purity, respect, and competition” to create a refined and high-quality holistic campus culture.

School Performance

1. Meiho University of Science and Technology has continued to demonstrate teaching and industry-academia results in recent years: in 2025, it hosted the “Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition,” and many teams in the school were shortlisted and won awards; promoted the “Cross-school Co-prosperity × Practice Sustainability” USR Forum and the Health and Technology Management Seminar to promote social responsibility and academic exchange. The employment rate of special students in the resource classroom reached 68%, showing the effectiveness of the concept of graduation and employment.

2. The Department of Nursing has performed brilliantly, with the top scorer in the 2025 National Nurse Examination being admitted, and the overall pass rate is nearly 80%; a cooperation agreement on internships and employment guarantees has been signed with the Zuoying General Hospital of the National Army, and the associate degree program in long-term care provides internships in elderly care; the Smart Health Care Center introduces technology and international exchanges to implement practical application and holistic professional training.

Transportation

Our school is about 40 minutes by car from Kaohsiung International Airport, about 40 minutes by car from Zuoying High-Speed ​​Rail Station, and about 20-30 minutes from Pingtung City Railway Station, with convenient transportation.

Meiho University of Science and Technology has a Faculty Development and Teaching Resources Center (FDC), which is committed to the development of teaching materials, digital courses, and the sharing of teaching resources to ensure that each course has high-quality support, so that students can grow with both theoretical and practical abilities. The school also actively promotes cross-domain courses, including “Smart Health Care, Home Care, and Silver Hair Care,” to meet the aging trends of industry and society and cultivate talents with care skills and cross-domain vision.
The 114th Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology “Dream Start, Entrepreneurship with You” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition hosted by our school in 2025 attracted 24 universities of science and technology and 50 teams from the southern region to sign up. Many student teams from our school advanced to the finals and won awards (such as “Photosynthetic Creative Company” and “H2O Link”), demonstrating students’ creativity, practical skills, and teamwork skills.
Meiho University of Science and Technology has built online, digital teaching materials and network course platforms for many years. The digital podium and information classroom system are 100% cloud-based, providing a flexible learning mode, allowing students to continue learning inside and outside the school, with both efficiency and convenience.

Industry-Academia Cooperation – Cultivating Innovative Entrepreneurial Teams and Guiding the Innovative Development of Local Industries

In recent years, Meiho University of Science and Technology has actively promoted industry-academia cooperation and international exchanges. In addition to traditional nursing and health care, it has also expanded to diversified fields such as catering management, food safety, and international cooperation. In 2022, the school signed a cooperation agreement with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam, to provide international students with exchange and academic cooperation opportunities.
In the fields of food and aquatic products, the school cooperates with National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education to offer practical training courses covering aquaculture, food processing, and inspection technology, and presides over research related to food analysis and agricultural product safety management, demonstrating the integration of industry, academia, and research. The Department of Catering Management has also established an international student industry-academia cooperation program to provide internship and practical experience and cultivate students’ cross-domain employment ability.
Nursing and medical care are the school’s traditional strengths. It has established stable cooperative relationships with many hospitals, including Taipei City United Hospital, Zuoying General Hospital of the National Army, Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital, and Pingtung Christian Hospital, providing students with clinical internships, talent cultivation, and post-graduation employment channels. At the same time, it promotes the integration plan of smart care and silver hair care, and establishes a smart health care center to combine technology and care to cultivate forward-looking talents.
The school has a Research and Development Office as a window for industry-academia cooperation to promote institutionalized cooperation plans and integrate the results into courses and students’ practical learning. Combining innovation and entrepreneurship competitions and the Higher Education Deep Cultivation Program, it integrates teaching, research, and industry-academia cooperation to cultivate diversified talents with internationalization, professionalism, and holistic abilities.

Introduction


National Pingtung University (NPTU) was formed on August 1, 2014, through the merger of National Pingtung University of Education and National Pingtung Institute of Commerce. It has four campuses: Minsheng Campus, Pingshi Campus, and Pingshang Campus, all located in Pingtung City with convenient transportation. There is also the Checheng Campus located in Checheng Township, Pingtung County.

Our school was formerly the Pingtung Normal School of Taiwan Governor-General’s Office, founded in April 1940, and the National Pingtung College of Commerce, founded in 1991. After the merger, there are 7 colleges, 30 departments, 1 institute, and 8 degree programs. In addition, there is an affiliated experimental elementary school, making it the only national university with the diverse characteristics of higher education, vocational education, and teacher training.

Transportation

National Pingtung University is located in the center of Pingtung City, just a 15-minute walk from the train station, close to Kaohsiung (30 minutes by train), 1.5 hours to Taichung, and 2.5 hours to Taipei. The surrounding area has complete living functions, convenient dining and transportation, and all kinds of recreational functions such as sports facilities, movie theaters, and shopping centers.

Teaching quality and academic prestige

National Pingtung University provides diverse learning channels for higher education, teacher training, and vocational education systems, allowing students to have the opportunity to take courses across fields and systems.     National Pingtung University Elite Scholarship for Overseas Chinese and Hong Kong and Macao Students

    Doctoral students: NTD 10,000 living allowance per month.

    Master’s students: NTD 5,000 living allowance per month.

    Undergraduate students: Tuition and miscellaneous fees waived or NTD 3,000 living allowance per month.

    Overseas Chinese students and students from Hong Kong and Macao who are enrolled in departments/institutes of the university and have formal student status. They must complete the payment and registration procedures, and the review and ranking will be conducted based on the academic transcripts and outstanding performance certificates submitted during the application.


    Scholarship for Outstanding Overseas Chinese Graduate Students

    NT$10,000 per month for six months.

    Applicants must have an average grade of 80 or above in the previous semester and be of good character and academic standing. The amount and number of awards will be adjusted according to the scholarship subsidy allocated by the Ministry of Education each year.


    Financial Aid for Underprivileged Overseas Chinese Students

    Based on the number of students and subsidy amount announced by the Ministry of Education.

    1. Overseas Chinese students (excluding graduate students and extended-study students) who come to Taiwan to study in accordance with the Regulations Regarding Study and Guidance for Overseas Chinese Students.

    2. Parents, legal guardians, or spouses who have not been registered in Taiwan for two full years.

    3. Parents who are settled in Taiwan and whose approved comprehensive income tax for the previous year is tax-exempt and hold proof thereof.

    4. Overseas Chinese students in their second year or above must have an average passing grade in their academic performance in the previous academic year and an average conduct grade of 80 or above.

    — The school’s student dormitories are located on three campuses (Minsheng, Pingshi, and Pingshang), with a total of 12 buildings and nearly 4,500 beds (158 for graduate students and nearly 4,300 for undergraduates).

    — The dormitory implements autonomous management, with card access for each person, and a 24-hour video surveillance system.

    — The rooms are equipped with basic equipment, including a 360° rotating fan, a split-type air conditioner, and personal bedding, wardrobes, desks and chairs, bookshelves, and desk lamps.
