Born in Sarawak, East Malaysia, and having moved to Taiwan, this film director graduated from the Department of Drama at Chinese Culture University. His films have received major awards at significant film festivals both domestically and internationally. He is a highly renowned film auteur on the international stage and a leading figure in Taiwanese cinema representing Malaysians. He has received several major awards at the three major European international film festivals, including the Golden Lion Award and the Jury Grand Prize at the Venice Film Festival for both Vive L’Amour (1994) and Stray Dogs (2013), as well as the Silver Bear Award at the Berlin Film Festival for The River (1997) and the Jury Award for the Teddy Award for Days (2020). Visage (2009) became the first film to be collected by the Louvre Museum, setting a benchmark and paradigm for art films. He has been nominated four times for the Venice Film Festival, three times for the Cannes Film Festival, three times for the Berlin Film Festival, and eight times for the Golden Horse Award for Best Director.

Free Chinese courses
We offer various Mandarin and Chinese culture experience courses. The courses currently offered include required courses, elective courses, and non-credit free small-class tutoring courses, covering introductory to advanced listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills courses, and Chinese society and culture courses, mainly to assist in improving the Chinese proficiency of international students at our university, and to obtain corresponding credits.

Chinese Culture University guarantees the accommodation life of international students during their studies! Our dormitory facilities are complete. In addition to wireless network equipment, they are equipped with water dispensers, washing machines, dryers, spin dryers, lounges, public bathrooms, pantries (counters), indoor drying areas (corridors), and vending machines, providing students with a complete and convenient dormitory life. Introduction
NCU, founded in 1915, is one of Taiwan’s leading universities, renowned for its long history, scenic campus, and strong academic reputation. The application period is from November to early December each year; outstanding students can also apply for a special admission scholarship (a total of NTD 40,000 for the first semester).

Introduction
School History
In 1899, Taichung Normal School, the predecessor of the university, was founded at the Changhua Confucius Temple. In 1923, the institution was rebuilt at its current location, officially launching its century-long educational mission.
In 1945, the university entered the Normal School phase, establishing a teacher education philosophy that emphasized educators as role models for society. In 1960, it stepped into the Junior Teachers College phase, advancing the ideals of liberal and professional higher education.
In 1987, the institution evolved into a Teachers College, developing into a modern teaching and research institution dedicated to professional education. In 2005, it was elevated to a University of Education, integrating its century-old tradition of teacher education while pursuing transformation and growth. Guided by the vision of “Inheriting a Century of Teacher Education and Shaping the Future University of Education,” the university aspires to become an innovative and sustainable teacher education institution with smart learning at its core.

TSMC Semiconductor Program
To encourage students in related fields to pursue studies in semiconductors and strengthen their professional technical skills, the university collaborates with TSMC to offer the Semiconductor Skills Credit Program. Students enrolled in the program receive hands on training provided by TSMC. New students of the bachelor’s program in the daytime system who are admitted through the channels of foreign student application, overseas Chinese student independent recruitment, or the Overseas Joint Recruitment Committee, and students who are enrolled in school below the fourth grade and have not applied for suspension, withdrawal, or transfer, may apply for this scholarship. The allocation, award standards and methods of this scholarship are as follows: 1. A total of 600,000 yuan for new students: (1) 3 top performers. Their works or results must have won third place or above in national or international competitions in Malaysia. Each student will receive a waiver of 50,000 yuan per semester for tuition and miscellaneous fees in the admission year, for a total of 100,000 yuan per academic year. (2) 5 outstanding performers. Their works or results must have won honorable mention or above in national or international competitions in Malaysia, or first place in inter-school competitions. Each student will receive a waiver of 30,000 yuan per semester for tuition and miscellaneous fees in the admission year, for a total of 60,000 yuan per academic year. 2. A total of 400,000 yuan for students in the second grade or above, awarded to 10 students. Their works or results must have won the top three places or above in Taiwan or international competitions, or first place in inter-school competitions. Each student will receive a waiver of 40,000 yuan for tuition and miscellaneous fees in the next semester.

The application qualifications for this grant: Those who meet all of the following conditions may submit an application. (1) Malaysian students of the bachelor’s program in the daytime system of this school who are admitted through the channels of foreign student application, overseas Chinese student independent recruitment, or the Overseas Joint Recruitment Committee, and who have not applied for suspension, withdrawal, or transfer. (2) Students who are economically or culturally disadvantaged. The allocation of this grant is to provide each student with a grant of 30,000 yuan for students who are enrolled in the school, have not applied for suspension, withdrawal, or transfer, and are from poor and disadvantaged backgrounds, have excellent academic performance, and are of good character. If the number of applicants exceeds the number of places expected to be awarded in that year, the applicants will be ranked according to their average academic performance in the previous academic year, and the awards will be given until the number of places determined by the source of funds for that year is reached.

The definition of Indonesian new students is as follows: New students of the bachelor’s program in the daytime system who have Indonesian nationality and are admitted through the channels of foreign student application, overseas Chinese student independent recruitment, or the Overseas Joint Recruitment Committee. The allocation, award standards and methods of this scholarship are as follows: Indonesian new students who obtain formal admission qualifications from this school and enroll will be eligible to apply for a scholarship that fully waives tuition and miscellaneous fees (excluding student group insurance fees and overseas student medical insurance fees/national health insurance fees) for the first academic year of admission. Depending on the budget approved in the current academic year, the number of places is limited to a maximum of thirty. Applicants for this scholarship should prepare the following documents and submit them to the Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs of this school within the prescribed period: 1. One application form. 2. One letter of recommendation (must be issued by the local Taiwan Alumni Association in Indonesia, the principal of the high school, a cooperative school, or a cooperative institution). 3. Counseling Mechanism and Campus Activities
In order to care for Overseas Chinese Student so that they can quickly adapt to local life and study with peace of mind, our school has a special “Overseas Compatriot and Mainland Chinese Students Advising Division” to take charge of related counseling matters, including arranging academic counseling, assisting in handling residence and entry-exit matters, club activities, and work-study opportunities. Encourage Overseas Chinese Student to learn the attitudes of democracy, autonomy, responsibility, caring for others, and serving the society through practical participation, develop students’ potential for independent thinking, and promote the extension and learning of activities other than academic work.
To support Overseas Chinese Student with financial difficulties, the University provides assistance in applying for various scholarships and financial aid programs, helping to reduce financial burdens and ensure a worry-free learning experience. In addition, Overseas Chinese Student are eligible to enroll in Overseas Chinese Student Accident Insurance and the National Health Insurance program, and may receive medical services directly at the University-affiliated clinics and hospitals, ensuring comprehensive healthcare coverage during their studies.
Overseas Chinese students are given priority for four years of on-campus accommodation. The dormitories are conveniently located near restaurants, convenience stores, and other daily amenities. Introduction
Spin out a bright life at Hsuan Chuang University
HCU is a higher education institution funded by the Buddhist community. It is a refined teaching-oriented university with 4 colleges, 11 bachelor’s degree programs, and 6 master’s degree programs. It is particularly renowned in the fields of catering, hotel management, communications, Japanese language, art design, visual communication, psychological counseling, social work, and religious culture.
Dedicated unit to assist international students
1. A dedicated unit is set up to assist international students with entry and exit procedures, accommodation, life management, psychological counseling, and emergency handling.
2. Free airport pick-up and drop-off service during the school year.
3. Provide health check-ups, group insurance, and medical assistance services.
4. There is an overseas student association that regularly organizes welcome and social events.
5. Tutors are assigned to hold regular tutor-student seminars, and each class has a teaching assistant (TA) to provide academic tutoring.
Guaranteed accommodation safety
Guaranteed accommodation for international students, with a dormitory fee of NTD 12,500 per semester. The facilities are new, with suite designs of approximately 12 square meters, complete with bathroom equipment, air conditioning, and 10M fiber optic internet. The dormitory is equipped with a card swiping system to effectively manage personnel access, and the management room has dedicated personnel on standby 24 hours a day. Surveillance cameras, fire alarms, and other related safety equipment operate around the clock.

Outstanding teaching resources
1. The College of Communication has the leading virtual studio in Taiwan and is equipped with complete film and television and various digital convergence teaching resources. The equipment investment exceeds NTD 100 million, and the faculty is mostly composed of professionals with both academic and practical experience.
2. The Department of Hospitality Management in the International College of Hospitality and Management has a five-star hotel lakeside practice hall and cooperates with many five-star hotels such as Shangri-La Hotel, Grand Hyatt Taipei, and Sheraton Hotel, providing employment upon graduation. The Department of Applied Japanese has a situational classroom in addition to professional teachers, allowing students to learn Japanese culture more deeply. It also promotes off-site learning, overseas internships, and exchange students to cultivate students’ international mobility and help them improve their employability.
3. The College of Social Sciences has the only psychology department in Taiwan named for its application. Over the years, it has cultivated many psychologists who serve in the industry. The Department of Religion and Culture offers a unique “life etiquette” course, and the department employs prestigious professional faculty in medicine, economics, and society, and assists students in obtaining professional funeral director licenses; and the Department of Social Work has a professional internship mechanism to cultivate professional social worker licenses.
4. The Department of Arts and Creative Design and the Department of Visual Communication Design of the College of Art and Design have many professional teachers, many of whom are masters from the industry, and are equipped with 5 professional workshops and creative classrooms. The teaching environment and equipment are complete, and emphasis is placed on practical course work.
Convenient transportation
Our school is located in Hsinchu City, near Sanxingqiao Railway Station, 40 minutes from Taoyuan Airport and 20 minutes from Hsinchu High-Speed Rail Station. Transportation is convenient, and there are passenger buses that go directly from the campus to Taipei City in just 70 minutes.
Low tuition and miscellaneous fees
The annual tuition and miscellaneous fees of our school are approximately NTD 100,000, and there are also discounts on tuition, miscellaneous fees, and accommodation fees for alliance schools.

1. Our school provides exchange student and dual degree programs with many foreign universities, including Pittsburg State University in the United States, University of Westminster in the United Kingdom, Kansai University in Japan, and Dankook University in South Korea.

Introduction
National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University was established on February 1, 2021, through the merger of National Yang Ming University and National Chiao Tung University. This union of two of Taiwan’s top universities—one specializing in biomedicine and the other in electrical engineering and computer science—is hailed as a powerful alliance. NYCU is ranked 219th in the 2025 QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) rankings, placing it 4th in Taiwan.
The Yang Ming Campus, as a pioneer in medical education reform, cultivates outstanding talents in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, life sciences, biomedical engineering, and medical humanities. It has a strong foundation in geriatric long-term care, oncology, brain science, and medical engineering, and holds a leading position in the global healthcare field. The Chiao Tung Campus is a leader in Taiwan in the fields of electronics, information and communication technology, management, science, and engineering. Counseling mechanism for Hong Kong and Macao students
The International and Cross-Strait Service Team assists overseas Chinese students, mainland Chinese students, and international students with on- and off-campus academic and living matters, such as arrival arrangements, accommodation, health insurance, residence visas, registration, and departure procedures. We also assist students with course selection, tuition payment, scholarships, and other matters.
Campus Events
We regularly organize activities such as the Four-University Overseas Chinese Student Sports Day, welcome and farewell events, Lunar New Year ancestor worship, Christmas parties, spring outings, and cultural tours to promote friendship among students.
Accommodation
Dormitories are 100% provided for overseas Chinese (including Hong Kong and Macao) bachelor’s students in grades 1-4, master’s students in grades 1-2, and doctoral students in grades 1-3. All dormitories are equipped with air conditioning, and there are 24-hour security guard services. Regular healthy living dormitories are offered to provide students with diverse choices. Dorm rooms for students with disabilities are also available, providing humanized services.

Professor Li-Wu Tan of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, National Chiao Tung University, and Professor of the Department of Electromechanical Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Macau, has researched and developed “Intelligent Detection Technology for Personal Heartbeat Monitoring,” which can accurately detect the key features of three different types of arrhythmia, thereby effectively identifying normal heartbeats, potential congestive heart failure, sleep apnea, and other personal heartbeat conditions.
This research was presented at the “2019 IEEE Eurasia Conference on Biomedical Engineering, Healthcare and Sustainability” and was highly praised by the conference, winning the “Best Conference Paper Award.”

To encourage students to engage in interdisciplinary learning, expand their second expertise, and deepen their diverse knowledge structure, we have referenced the BxA cross-college degree structure promoted by Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in the United States, as well as the innovative models of modularized curriculum and online/hybrid learning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), as benchmarks to promote the development of “Cross-Domain Programs.”
The “Cross-Domain Program” starts from the educational philosophy, emphasizing that under the principle of not extending the study period and not significantly increasing the number of course credits, it assists students in taking courses in their own department, and also selecting cross-domain module courses (BxA) offered by the second expertise department or college. Those who complete the program will have their cross-domain expertise added to their degree certificate upon graduation to highlight their diverse learning achievements. The design of this program emphasizes flexible credit allocation and core curriculum modularization, and combines living and learning communities and a flexible learning mentor system as support mechanisms to provide students with space for autonomous planning and diverse development.
