In view of the serious harm caused by smoking, Dr. Huang Xuan, a smoking cessation clinic physician at Taichung Tzu Chi Hospital, became the only physician volunteer for the John Tung Foundation in Taichung City and County. In his busy work as a physician, he still takes the time to provide one hour of online consultation every Thursday noon to promote public health.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic has been raging for more than 2 years, Dr. Huang has not only published articles on Facebook social media, but also enjoys appearing on health programs and even crossing over into entertainment programs, using edutainment methods to educate the public. He believes that “saving people is not just about surgery,” and that medical education cannot be just rigid. Through edutainment methods, medical knowledge can be better conveyed to the public.

Dr. Huang Xuan expects himself to move towards Southeast Asia in the future, continue to use his expertise, convey medical knowledge and promote literary education. Dr. Huang Xuan has been donating to the Taiwan Scholarship Fund for more than 10 years to help students come to Taiwan for further studies.
