Introduction
Founded in 1974, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan Tech) was the first technological university in Taiwan. Dedicated to cultivating high-level technical and management talent, the university strives to provide holistic education and serve as the backbone of Taiwan’s industrial sector, ensuring students are ‘career-ready upon graduation.’ Our vision is to develop into an international, applied research university focused on technological innovation and industrial application. To achieve this, we emphasize the cultivation of ‘π-shaped talent’—going beyond the traditional T-shape—by strengthening three core competencies: Professional Practical Skills (the left leg), Liberal Arts Literacy (the right leg), and International Connectivity (the crossbar). Taiwan Tech comprises 7 colleges—Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Management, Design, Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Applied Sciences, and Industry-Academia Innovation—including 27 departments, 4 undergraduate programs, and 2 bachelor’s degree programs.
Three-school alliance
NTUST has established a three-university alliance with National Taiwan University and National Taiwan Normal University, and students share the teaching resources of the three universities to study courses across schools to establish a complete learning network, with the goal of becoming the world’s top joint university system.
