School Introduction

Our university is the only graduate school in Taiwan that has departments related to traditional opera, juggling stunts, music and other performing arts, such as: Department of Peking Opera, Department of Gezi Opera, Department of Hakka Opera, Department of Folk Skills and Department of Opera Music. In addition, it also includes the Department of Theater Arts related to Western theater art and stage art, with a total of six departments.

It also has a higher vocational department, a middle school and an elementary school (fifth and sixth grades), which is the only opera talent training school with a 12-year consistent system. There are also internship and performance theaters, as well as “Peking Opera Troupe”, “Variety Troupe” and “Youth Theatre Troupe” to promote traditional opera art.

Teaching quality and academic prestige

Integrate the university’s rich teaching and research resources, and apply for subsidies for teaching excellence programs to the Ministry of Science and Technology or the Ministry of Education to optimize the quality and quantity of teaching and research. Organize international master workshops or academic lectures, organize integrated performing arts seminars, and promote the editing and publication of the “Performing Arts Cross-border” book.

Organize the school’s unique “Lakes and Mountains Art Season” to gather high-quality talents from teachers and students, promote cross-border performances of dance, music, Chinese music and drama, and expand the performance energy and opportunities of our students.

International Exchange and Cooperation

Under the trend of globalization, “the Academy of Opera goes out to the world, and the world embraces the Academy of Opera”. Therefore, the school actively expands its international visibility, connects and cooperates with internationally renowned performing arts institutions, and strengthens exchanges with foreign sister schools to enhance exchanges in three aspects: students going abroad, foreign students coming to the school, and teacher exchanges.
