譚俊豪

Founder of Shuguo Bar (e-commerce)

Macau

Tan began to come into contact with music at the age of 15. After graduating from middle school, he hoped to continue developing music, so he resolutely went to Taiwan to study at the Department of Music of NTUE.

After arriving in Taiwan, he hoped to support himself and insisted on earning his own living expenses. As a freshman, he found that the school cafeteria lacked fruit, so he set up a stall outside the campus restaurant to sell fruit. Tan jokingly calls himself a “fruit man”, taking care of everything from purchasing, inspecting, transporting, and cutting fruit.

As a sophomore, Tan and a friend jointly invested in opening a juice shop on campus to expand the scale. The business became better and better, and he earned NT$200,000 half a year later, earning the first pot of gold in his life.

As a junior, he began to think about the future development, sold the juice shop, and first focused on music development and studies. Until his senior year, he noticed that urban residents in Taipei were busier, and some people may not have time to buy fruit after get off work on weekdays, which triggered him to conceive of a “door-to-door” fruit service.

He hopes to “maximize” the fruit and vegetable business, so he continues to develop into the agricultural industry and establish Shuguo Home (Shuguo Bar), which mainly sells fresh fruits, vegetables, and snacks (dried fruits, nuts) online. The agricultural products are contracted with local farmers. After receiving customer orders, the subscription-based business model is used to deliver fresh fruits, vegetables, and healthy snacks to customers’ homes.

Tan plans to expand Shuguo Bar to the mainland, Macau, and even Southeast Asian markets after the business in Taiwan is stable to expand its business territory.
