Our university emphasizes both Chinese traditional arts and Western modern science. In accordance with the development of the times and social needs, we have 11 colleges, 52 departments, 33 master’s programs, and 9 doctoral programs in literature, international studies and foreign languages, science and engineering, law, social sciences, environmental planning and biological resources, business, journalism and communication, arts, education, and physical education, health and recreation. We are the most diverse and complete comprehensive university in Taiwan, and the closest to social trends!

Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Moving Towards Internationalization

In recent years, our university has actively promoted innovation and internationalization, allocating more than 15 million in scholarships each year to strengthen international mobility and enable students to become talents with international competitiveness!

To date, we have established sister school relationships with more than 400 universities around the world, spanning five continents. These include world-renowned institutions such as Heidelberg University in Germany, the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom, the University of Lille in France, the University of Siena in Italy, Waseda University in Japan, Seoul National University and Ewha Womans University in South Korea, Purdue University and the University of Michigan in the United States, and Western Sydney University in Australia. We also actively promote transnational dual degree programs and other study abroad systems. Each year, nearly a thousand international exchange students come to study abroad and at our university, successfully creating a high-quality, internationalized learning environment.

Chinese Culture University leverages its diverse academic fields to promote interdisciplinary learning. We offer more than 60 “interdisciplinary expertise” courses for students to freely choose, in order to cultivate talents with diverse field capabilities, develop students’ second expertise, and enhance their own employment competitiveness.

Transportation

Our university is adjacent to Yangmingshan National Park in Taipei City. In addition to providing students with shuttle buses and shared taxi services, there is also a bus stop on campus, providing students with a variety of direct transportation options to and from the campus in Taipei City.

Famous Director

Malaysia

Born in Sarawak, East Malaysia, and having moved to Taiwan, this film director graduated from the Department of Drama at Chinese Culture University. His films have received major awards at significant film festivals both domestically and internationally. He is a highly renowned film auteur on the international stage and a leading figure in Taiwanese cinema representing Malaysians. He has received several major awards at the three major European international film festivals, including the Golden Lion Award and the Jury Grand Prize at the Venice Film Festival for both Vive L’Amour (1994) and Stray Dogs (2013), as well as the Silver Bear Award at the Berlin Film Festival for The River (1997) and the Jury Award for the Teddy Award for Days (2020). Visage (2009) became the first film to be collected by the Louvre Museum, setting a benchmark and paradigm for art films. He has been nominated four times for the Venice Film Festival, three times for the Cannes Film Festival, three times for the Berlin Film Festival, and eight times for the Golden Horse Award for Best Director.

Moving Towards Internationalization. Starting from Culture

To date, Chinese Culture University has established sister school relationships with more than 400 universities around the world, including world-renowned institutions such as Heidelberg University in Germany, the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom, the University of Lille in France, the University of Siena in Italy, Waseda University in Japan, Seoul National University and Ewha Womans University in South Korea, Purdue University and the University of Michigan in the United States, and Western Sydney University in Australia. Our university also actively promotes transnational dual degree programs and other study abroad systems. Each year, more than a thousand international exchange students come to study abroad and at our university. There are many exchange student opportunities, successfully creating a high-quality, internationalized learning environment.

Industry-Academia Collaboration. Diverse Scholarships

Our university has established a variety of scholarships, including the Huagang Scholarship, as well as alumni association scholarships, scholarships specifically for overseas Chinese and foreign students, scholarships for outstanding foreign language proficiency, and scholarships for outstanding athletes, allowing students to study with peace of mind. Moreover, our university has signed cooperation agreements with more than 700 enterprises and organizations throughout Taiwan. The cooperating manufacturers include top institutions in various industries, providing thousands of internship opportunities each year. Vocational training combines social resources, so there is no need to worry about connecting to employment!

Free Chinese courses

We offer various Mandarin and Chinese culture experience courses. The courses currently offered include required courses, elective courses, and non-credit free small-class tutoring courses, covering introductory to advanced listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills courses, and Chinese society and culture courses, mainly to assist in improving the Chinese proficiency of international students at our university, and to obtain corresponding credits.

Scholarship Amount

Eligibility

Scholarships for Overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, Macau, and Foreign Students

.Top students receive full tuition and miscellaneous fee waivers, approximately TWD$90,000~120,000 per year
.Outstanding students receive partial tuition and miscellaneous fee reductions, approximately TWD$50,000 per year
.Award-winning students receive a waiver of on-campus basic room type accommodation fees for the first year, approximately TWD$20,000 per year

Students should select the scholarship application when registering for the individual recruitment on the university website and submit relevant supporting documents before the registration deadline.

Alumni Association Scholarship

Up to NTD 90,000~100,000 in tuition and miscellaneous fee waivers

Scholarships recommended by the Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, and Indonesia alumni associations of our university each academic year.

Huagang Scholarship

NTD 2,000~8,000 per semester

Students who rank in the top three in their class in terms of academic average in the previous semester may apply for the Huagang Scholarship.

Scholarship for Overseas Chinese and Foreign Students in Financial Need, Office of Student Affairs

Approximately NTD 10,000 per semester

1. Overseas Chinese and foreign students with formal student status in the university’s undergraduate and graduate programs

2. Academic average of 65 points or higher in the previous semester

3. Must have completed at least 9 credits in the previous semester (including during overseas exchange periods)

4. Priority is given to students from financially disadvantaged families who have not received other on- or off-campus scholarships in the current semester

Overseas Community Affairs Council Scholarship for Outstanding Academic Performance

NTD 5,000

1. Overseas Chinese students in undergraduate programs above the second year.

2. The overall average academic performance for the previous academic year (both semesters) must be above 80 points.

3. Conduct must be rated A (80 points) or higher.

4. Overseas Chinese students who are repeating a grade, re-enrolling, or extending their studies are not eligible to apply.

Scholarships for Overseas Chinese Students (Funded by Donations)

NTD 5,000

1. Overseas Chinese students in undergraduate programs above the second year.

2. The overall average academic performance for the previous academic year (both semesters) must be above 80 points.

3. Conduct must be rated A (80 points) or higher.

4. Overseas Chinese students who are repeating a grade, re-enrolling, or extending their studies are not eligible to apply.

Ministry of Education Bursary for Poor Overseas Chinese Students

NTD 3,000 per month

1. Overseas Chinese students studying in Taiwan in accordance with the Regulations Regarding Overseas Chinese Students Returning to Taiwan for Study and Guidance (excluding graduate students, students extending their studies, and self-funded overseas Chinese students from Myanmar).

2. Overseas Chinese students who have been studying for more than two years, with a passing overall average academic performance and an average conduct score of 80 or higher for the previous academic year.

3. Parents, legal guardians, or spouses who have not been registered in Taiwan for more than two years.

Mr. Liang Shih-Chen and Ms. Liang Li-Ying Scholarship from the Indonesian Sampoerna Group

NTD 50,000 per academic year

1. Priority is given to Indonesian students who are from financially disadvantaged families or who have suddenly encountered major accidents and are in urgent need of assistance.

2. Priority is given to those who propose creative plans or research, especially those related to Taiwan and Indonesia.

3. Conduct scores must be 80 or higher each semester and academic performance must average 75 or higher in the previous academic year.

Mr. Liang Shih-Lie Scholarship from the descendants of Chengde Building in Meixian – Indonesia

NTD 25,000 per academic year, for a maximum of 2 years

1. Overseas Chinese and foreign students in the master’s program who have excellent academic performance and meet the conditions for financially disadvantaged students should submit proof of passing the thesis outline review by the department or a letter of recommendation or other relevant proof.

2. Conduct scores must be 80 or higher each semester and academic performance must average 75 or higher in the previous academic year.

Chinese Culture University guarantees the accommodation life of international students during their studies! Our dormitory facilities are complete. In addition to wireless network equipment, they are equipped with water dispensers, washing machines, dryers, spin dryers, lounges, public bathrooms, pantries (counters), indoor drying areas (corridors), and vending machines, providing students with a complete and convenient dormitory life. The four dormitories on campus have controlled entrances and exits and are equipped with on-duty dormitory managers to ensure the safety of students’ residences! Each dormitory has a lounge and learning center, providing opportunities for resident students to communicate and learn from each other and for international students to exchange ideas!
