The proportion of young and elderly generations living together is low (only 11.65% of three-generation families), and the interaction opportunities between young and old have decreased, making children have a more negative image of the elderly from the appearance of the elderly; at the same time, because the elderly mostly use local languages (such as Taiwanese), it makes it difficult for children to feel close to the elderly in conversation, resulting in a sense of separation. Regardless of whether the kindergarten is transformed into a “co-kindergarten for the young and old”, the social responsibility practice axis focused on in this project is the promotion of the popularization of “intergenerational learning” characteristic courses, so that the relationship between children and the elderly can be transformed from a sense of separation to a sense of intimacy, so that children can learn the valuable life wisdom and cultural values from the elderly, and cultivate children’s life qualities of respect for the elderly and care for the elderly.

Students holding a Hong Kong Diploma of Higher Education or Associate Degree can improve their ranking and directly study in the 3rd grade after passing the university’s credit waiver review, and obtain a bachelor’s degree from our school after two years of study; and pass the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications review, which is equivalent to Level 5 of the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (educational qualification meets the standard of a local Bachelor Degree)

Industry-Academia Cooperation

The “Technological Flower Discovery under Bagua Mountain” project team uses agricultural waste as a topic, and discusses the issue through design intervention. It processes grape vine agricultural waste without producing harmful substances and gases, and solves various problems caused by agricultural waste in an industrial design manner. The project team combines the school’s professional design resources, the community’s agricultural waste materials, and the industry’s professional technology to propose a number of solutions. Through action, it unites the community, industry, and students to jointly propose solutions to the problems caused by agricultural waste. In addition to turning the community’s annoying agricultural waste into products with economic value, it can also use this as a topic to promote students and industries to care about the various problems caused by agricultural waste, and share with the public the concern and understanding of environmental issues behind the products.
