AU is a comprehensive university located in Wufeng District, Taichung City, Taiwan. Its academic units include the College of Medicine and Health Science, the College of Information and Electrical Engineering, the College of Management and Social Sciences, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the College of Creative Design, the College of Nursing, and the College of Artificial Intelligence, with a total of 7 colleges, 26 departments, 19 master’s degree programs, 8 executive master’s degree programs, and 8 doctoral degree programs.

According to the latest rankings released by Global Views Magazine, Asia University has seen a significant leap in multiple categories, securing its position as the No. 2 private university in Central Taiwan:
《Global Views Magazine》has released “2025 Best Universities in Taiwan” ranking.Asia University has shown remarkable progress compared to last year across various categories, including General, Private, Comprehensive, and Non-specialized (General Education) rankings. AU currently ranks 18th among all universities in Taiwan, 6th among private universities, and 2nd among private institutions in Central Taiwan. International Certification

College of Management – AACSB Accreditation:
Out of approximately 16,000 business schools across more than 100 countries, fewer than 6% have earned the prestigious AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation. The College of Management at Asia University is proud to be among this elite group. Recognized as one of the ‘Triple Crowns’ of business education, AACSB accreditation is globally revered as the gold standard of excellence, ensuring that our degrees hold immense value in the international job market.

College of Information and Electrical Engineering – IEET Accreditation:
All departments of the College of Information and Electrical Engineering of AU, including the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, the Department of Information Communication, and the Department of Bioinformatics and Medical Engineering, have earned IEET International Accreditation. This means that the College of Information and Electrical Engineering of Asia University has the same educational quality as internationally renowned universities such as Caltech, Stanford, Harvard, MIT, Princeton, University of California, Cambridge, Oxford, Melbourne, University of Hong Kong, Seoul National University, National University of Singapore, and Tokyo Institute of Technology, and can cultivate talents with engineering practice and professional ethics.

Deep Cultivation of Education. Excellence in Teaching:
AU has been awarded the “University Teaching Excellence Program” by the Ministry of Education every year since 2005, and has been awarded the new “Higher Education Deep Cultivation Program” promoted by the Ministry of Education since 2018, which fully provides teachers and students with complete teaching support and environment, and improves teaching quality.

China Medical University – Asia University System: Shared Resources Across Two Universities:
Since 2012, Asia University and China Medical University have formed the China Medical University – Asia University System, integrating and sharing academic resources. The two institutions jointly appoint outstanding faculty members, host international conferences, and actively promote cross-university and interdisciplinary courses as well as academic exchanges among professors. Teaching quality and academic prestige

1. Teaching Practice Award: AU was subsidized by the Ministry of Education’s “113 Teaching Practice Research Program” with 33 approved cases. A total of 202 subsidies have been obtained since 107, ranking first in the higher education system in terms of the number of cases per teacher, with outstanding performance.

2. British QS 2026 Best Universities in Asia: 3rd in Taiwan, 2nd among private universities, and 1st among non-medical private universities.
The British “Times Higher Education” (THE) special issue, “2026 World’s Best Universities” ranking, AU has been on the list for 12 consecutive years, ranking 3rd in Taiwan, 2nd among private universities, and 1st among non-medical private universities.

3. 21 teachers from AU have been recognized as “Top 2% of Scientists in the World”, and AU has been ranked as “Employer’s Favorite Private University” for many years.

4. Students have won countless awards in international competitions:
AU actively encourages students to participate in international design and invention competitions. As of October 2025, it has won 12 German iF Design Awards, 17 British LICC London International Creative Competition Awards, and 108 German Red Dot Design Awards. “Date with Tea” won the New York ADC Gold Award, with excellent results. Students of the College of Creative Design actively participate in international creative design competitions, winning a total of more than 400 medals. They have not only handed in a brilliant report card, but also been ranked among the international design schools. Hui Cheuk-ting once studied at Hong Kong True Light College. After obtaining the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education, she went to Taiwan to study for a bachelor’s degree because of her love for pastoral slow living, and chose to live there for a long time.

After graduating in 2018, she established a VLOG and personal Youtube channel “AV IN TAIWAN” to record her life in Taiwan; the following year, she also co-hosted several J2 travel programs such as “Backpack Lady” and “Taiwan Sweet Secret” with the Taiwan Production Center of Hong Kong Television Broadcasts Limited. She also appeared in Taiwanese variety shows and attracted the attention of netizens because of her good looks.

Psychologist Huang Zhangjian was the first Malaysian overseas Chinese student in the Department of Psychology of AU. He graduated in 2008 and obtained a master’s degree in Counseling and Clinical Psychology from National Dong Hwa University in 2014. After completing his studies, he returned to his country and worked as a psychologist at the Counseling Center of New Era University College.

Introduction of the College of Artificial Intelligence
The “College of Artificial Intelligence” was established to promote artificial intelligence education and assist in planning a smart campus. Assist various colleges in planning and promoting basic artificial intelligence curriculum teaching, advanced and special research courses, so that students have the ability to use and apply artificial intelligence programming languages.
Related courses include information and technology, programming and AI applications, introduction to artificial intelligence, cloud computing, logical operations, AI algorithms, data mining, big data analysis, expert systems, machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, image recognition, speech recognition, bioinformatics, human-computer interaction, etc.

AI Experience Workshop:
The AI Experience Workshop currently has six areas: [AI Presentation Area], [Smart Home], [Smart Robot], [Smart Transportation], [Smart Factory], and [Smart Medical]. It is maintained by a cross-domain teacher-student research team within the school, and integrates diverse, cross-disciplinary and other related teaching courses and practical teaching experiences, with multimedia videos, teaching manuals, brochures, posters and other different descriptions of service content.

AI Practice Workshop:

Internet of Things:
Campus environmental data are collected through IoT devices such as self-developed microclimate stations, air quality sensors, and smart electricity meters to comprehensively monitor real-time environmental changes across campus locations. By integrating monitoring data and applying an intelligent IoT platform, the system connects with campus facilities for remote control and management, thereby supporting sustainable campus development goals.

Circular Economy:
With Design+Circular Economy, the College of Creative Design, which creates a sustainable future environment, adheres to the design principles of maintaining environmental balance, respecting multiculturalism, and combining local and circular economy, and formulates action plans for sustainable design development.

Financial Technology:
Under the impact of the global financial technology trend, traditional financial services are facing unprecedented challenges. Various innovative financial technology services and business models have emerged in response. In recent years, innovative technologies such as blockchain and smart contracts have also begun to subvert traditional financial practices. Countries have invested in this field, which has become an important focus of the next wave of financial service defense. The goal of this center is to accelerate the research and development and application innovation of key technologies in the field through the parallel approach of introducing domestic and foreign experts and cooperation between industry, government, academia and research, drive the active development of financial technology in the central region, and keep pace with international trends, so as to cultivate future financial technology talents. The tasks of this center are planned as follows:

Develop digital financial platforms, services and data systems

  1. Explore the value of the data ecosystem through acquisition, management and data analysis.
  2. Apply related technologies to health, agriculture, stock intelligence, marketing of blockchain-based agricultural assets, and digital financial platforms (hospitals, banks).

Audiology and Speech Pathology, Physical Therapy, Optometry:
The Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology, the Department of Physical Therapy, and the Department of Optometry of AU have first-class equipment and counseling professional certification courses to help students obtain relevant certification qualifications to help them prepare for future entry into the workplace.

industry-academia cooperation or school-employment integration system

In order to actively promote industry-academia cooperation, patent technology transfer, intellectual property application and innovation incubation, international industry-academia, and extension education, the school has established the Industry-Academia Operation Office as a first-level unit of the school, and has established 2 groups and 1 center under the “Industry-Academia Cooperation Group”, “Special Technology Transfer Group” and “Innovation Incubation Center”. In addition to providing cross-domain industry-academia resource matching, through technology matching, knowledge sharing, deepening international links and incubating new ventures, it also assists teachers and students of the school to actively participate in various industry-academia cooperative research, extension education and entrepreneurship services.

International Industry-Academia Alliance:
The Industry-Academia Alliance exposes the school’s scientific research achievements through industry-academia exchange meetings, technology presentations, and matchmaking meetings, and integrates the Ministry of Science and Technology’s seedling, germination, value creation, and innovation and entrepreneurship incentive (FITI) programs to gather forward-looking research and development momentum, strengthen alliance synergy, and launch cross-domain service projects that meet the real needs of the industry, attract scientific research industry-academia cooperation, connect regional industrial momentum, and then promote related members, industry-academia, intellectual property technology transfer, talent cultivation and new venture incubation work, with the goal of promoting industrial transformation and upgrading, and ultimately achieving autonomous operation.
