Introduction
Penghu is made of fish, water, and wind
The people of Penghu are all fish
All water
All wind
–Excerpt from the poet Du Ye’s “Penghu’s Dream Opens Its Wings”
Penghu has many islands and a small population, but it has the most beautiful ocean, beaches and unique humanistic customs. Our school is located in it and is a small and beautiful National University of Science and Technology. It has three colleges: Talent and Management, Tourism and Leisure, and Marine Resources and Engineering, with a total of 12 departments and 5 graduate institutes. It is the only university of science and technology in Taiwan in the form of an outlying island. In 2018, our school joined RETI (World Island University Alliance) with the goal of cultivating professionals with marine fisheries, tourism, leisure, technology and management capabilities. It is the best choice for students who love nature.
The dormitory provides
The school has three student dormitories, Lantian, Bihai, and Caifeng. Each room is equipped with beds, desks, chairs, wardrobes, telephones, and air conditioners. Public areas are equipped with drinking fountains, beverage vending machines, self-service washing machines, spin dryers, clothes dryers, and televisions. There are also lounges, K-study centers, and recreational centers. The Accommodation Committee holds various activities every semester to enrich students’ accommodation life. The accommodation fee is only 8,000 yuan per semester, which is inexpensive and has a beautiful environment.
Special Performance
1. It has a high-quality learning environment and the lowest tuition and miscellaneous fees among universities and colleges in the country.
2. 1111 Human Resources Bank’s “Enterprise Favorite University Survey” ranks our school as the first among technology universities in Yihua East and outlying islands.
3. Won subsidies from the Ministry of Education’s Higher Education Deep Cultivation Program, the Vocational College Practical Environment Optimization Program, and the Vocational Reconstruction Program.
境外生輔導機制
The Office of Research and Development of our school has an International Affairs Team responsible for matters related to overseas Chinese and foreign student counseling. Special personnel assist in counseling residence permits and entry and exit applications, scholarship applications, and campus life consultation. When overseas Chinese and foreign students are not familiar with administrative procedures, special personnel will contact relevant institutions horizontally (such as the Immigration Department, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and various offices within the school), and answer questions raised by overseas Chinese and foreign students in a timely manner, so that students can feel at ease and concentrate on their studies.
